You'd be surprised at how balloons can help you not only put people "in the mood," but how balloons can aid you in creating attention. Please find some ideas below to help you see how balloons may be able to change your dull event into a spectacular one!
String of Pearls
You need:
11" Yellow Latex
11" Lime Latex
Weights
To Make: First, tie line to your sand weight. Blow up a latex balloon with helium and tie directly to the line. You will be able to move the balloon on the line if you need to space them later on. Simply continue adding balloons to the line making sure to give each balloon enough space to stand up straight. When you reach the point where you want to end, tie the line off to the weight.
To Make: First, blow up the 17" balloon with the pink 11" inside (create a bubble balloon). Next inflate 2 11" balloons (pink and green) and tie together (creating a duplet). Tie 2 more balloons (ivory and ivory) together. Cluster the four together by twisting them. Tie clear line on the 17" bubble balloon. Hold the cluster up to the 17" and wrap the line around the cluster a few times. Continue with the next cluster. Add ribbons and tie off to weight.

To Make: First, stuff the colored latex balloon inside the clear balloon with a pencil. Hold the neck of the colored balloon inside the clear to the side and place the clear 17" neck on the inflator. Inflate the 17" about half full. Take the balloons off the inflator. Line up the necks of the two balloons and inflate the colored balloon inside the 17" to full capacity. The 17" should fill up to a full balloon- if not, fill it to desired size. Pull the colored balloons neck out of the clear balloon and tie a knot around the both balloons. Tie ribbon on.
Criss Cross Arches
You need:
4 Weights
To Make: First, place the sand weights in the four corners. Blow up 2 balloons with air or helium (air preferred for covering weights), and tie together. Tie another two together. Cluster them together. Tie clear line to one weight. Wrap the line around the cluster tight onto the weight. Wrap another cluster onto the line. Now start inflating latex with helium and tie directly to the clear line making sure to give each balloon enough "bumping room." Once you reach diagonal corner, tie to weight leaving about 2 feet of line with no balloons. Then add air-filled clusters to cover weight. Finally, create the second arch under the first making sure to space balloons the same and allow the line to touch (cross) the other line. Adjust the four corners as needed.
Bouquets
You need:
7 11" Silver Latex
Weight
To Make: First, create a fancy weight by filling a balloon or baggie with sand. Air inflate 2 silver balloons and tie together. Inflate 2 more and tie together. Cluster them together by twisting. Tie sand weight onto cluster. Cluster four burgundy (smaller) and twist into the silver. Add onion spray to middle. Blow up 6 burgundy 11" balloons and 3 silver 11" and tie to ribbon. Inflate a star and tie ribbon on. Arrange and tie onto weight.
Cluster Arch
You need:
2 Weights
To Make: (Note: one bag of 100 ct. 11" balloons will make an 18' arch 9'H x 9'W). Inflate 2 blue latex and tie together (creating a duplet). Inflate a white and gold latex and tie together. Cluster the 4 balloons together by twisting. Make sure the balloon colors are in the pattern blue, white, blue, gold when you look at the cluster flat. Tie clear line to a weight. Place the cluster on the weight and wrap the line around the balloons. Make another cluster, keeping the color pattern. Line up the colors as you place the second cluster on top of the first and turn slightly to the right. Pack the cluster into the other. Pull the line thru the middle of the clusters, wrap it down and around the first cluster and pull it up thru middle. Wrap the line around the second cluster to secure. Keep packing clusters on and turn in "right" direction. When done, tie other end to a weight.
Columns
You need:
1 Pole
16 11" Pearl Latex
To Make: First, blow up the 36" balloon with the lilac and pearl 11" inside (create bubble balloons), set aside. Next inflate 2 11" balloons (lilac and lilac) and tie together (creating a duplet). Tie 2 more balloons (lilac and lilac) together. Cluster the four together by twisting them onto the pole near bottom and push down. Create cluster with pearl balloons and pack/twist onto pole on top of lilac and push down. You can continue all the way up the pole or create the topiary design you see above. Tie the 36" balloon on top with line.
Balloon Flower
You need:
2- 11" Yellow Latex
Weights
To Make: First, blow up 2 pink latex balloons with helium and tie them together (this is called a duplet). Hold the duplet between your legs or secure under a table (so as to not fly away!) Tie 2 more together (to create another duplet). Now blow up a single balloon and tie into one of the duplets. Next simply put the duplet and triplet together and twist them in the center (you now have a cluster of 5). Make another cluster of 5. Twist the first set of 5 together with the second set of 5 by laying one cluster onto the other and twisting at least one balloon from each set together. Blow up the 2 yellow latex and size them to a small size. Tie them together. Push the 2 yellow latex into the cluster of pink balloons and make sure one yellow latex is on each set of the 5 pink balloons. Tie a piece of ribbon into the cluster and hang.
You can also make these with air and put them on poles or hang them.

To Make: First, blow up 2 blue latex with air and size them to a 9". Tie them together and set aside. Blow up and tie 2 yellow together (size them to 9" also). Twist these duplets together, this is called a cluster. Make 3 more clusters so you have a total of 4. Tie off some ribbon onto the sand weight. Place one cluster on the weight and twist line around the middle of the cluster. Place next cluster on and make sure to wrap ribbon around this cluster and the one below it to lock it on. Pack all the clusters on this way. Tie off ribbon at the end. Blow up the clear balloon (put some money inside if you like) and tie it off by tying it into the last cluster. Tape on the grad cap and the rolled piece of paper. Blow up the mylars and tie them into the grad man for a fun centerpiece. Or give to your favorite grad as a present!
