What kind of money can be made with balloons?
-It really depends on how much you are willing to network with people you know. Balloon decorators can make a couple hundred dollars or tens of thousands of dollars a month depending on how many jobs they book. In our classes, we teach you how to network and also how to get "bread and butter" business, which is repeat business that will help you bring in income from month to month to help sustain your new business.

Do I have to buy a lot of equipment?
-No. The equipment you will need includes a helium tank, a valve, a safety item such as a dolly, an air machine, and your balloons. We teach you to rent what you need in the beginning and then buy professional equipment once you are securing jobs.
Can I make money with balloons just on weekends or just weekdays?
-Yes, there are different kinds of balloon decorators. There are decorators who just like doing weddings (and most weddings are on the weekends). Other decorators like making unique balloon bouquets and delivering gift baskets with them, and this is work that would be done on weekdays (delivering to peoples places of work). There are decorators who love helping businesses by creating unique designs for them to put outside- these types of jobs would be done early mornings on the weekdays. You can create the business to fit your lifestyle.
I don't have any pictures yet, so I do I show customers what I can do?
-If you can take our Balloon Class, please do because you will be able to bring a digital camera and take pictures of all the items that YOU make! Then, it's a matter of going home and practicing and taking pictures of your work to build up your portfolio. Keep a camera with you at all times and for all jobs. Take pictures from many angles and group them into designs and only show a few of each design to make the decision process easier for your customers. Showing them hundreds of pictures will overwhelm them,
Do I need to have a store front?
-No, you will probably make more money at balloon decorating if you DON'T have a storefront. Overhead costs are becoming extreme now and rents on buildings can eat up much of your profits. There are many BETTER methods to secure customers than to wait for them to walk in. In our Balloon Class, we teach you to listen and know when to approach people you already know!
Do I need any special training or experience or background to do balloons as a business?
-No, we teach middle school and high school kids all the way up to grandmas and grandpas how to do balloons. You don't need to have any degrees or creative experience. In the Balloon Class, we teach you how to network with people you already know to help you with sales. We go over the equipment and design work to help you feel comfortable with doing the decorating. We even show you how we get a customer to say YES and then prep and actually do the event.
How do I learn to properly set up my business?
-The Balloon Book will take you step-by-step through the process of setting up your Balloon Business. We don't suggest that you spend a lot of money on equipment or supplies. We don't suggest that you waste money on a shop. We'll guide you through the cheapest and fastest way to get set up and get going. For real hands-on experience and to gain confidence with decorating, we recommend taking the class.
What days and times are the classes held?
-The classes are tailored to your needs and we usually teach them on Saturday mornings from 9 AM to 1 PM. Simply call us at 909-982-3301 and ask us what Saturdays (or days) are available, and we'll pencil you in. From there, you can make travel arrangements, and we'll send you a confirmation ticket. You can hold your date by paying $100 deposit and then the full amount is due at least one week prior to class.
I already do parties for friends and family. Is this a good place to start?
-Yes! It's great to be able to practice your balloon decorating skills for friends and family. If you have already done a few parties and really loved taking care of the decorating details, then you are a natural balloon artist. Definately give us a call so you can learn more about our class..
How do I order the equipment I would need?
-Most of our equipment is sold online but you can also call us at 909-982-3301. Email us at its_a_gas@yahoo.com or fax us at 909-982-3381 to place your order.
-If you are in Southern California, we can deliver the items to you and show you how to operate them. For our Nationwide Customers, we have provided videos and tip sheets on this website to help show you how to operate the equipment.
